Living Rooms Across America (LRAA) is a series of curated events that utilizes music and storytelling as vehicles to shift the public conversation around some of the most pressing social issues of our time.The purpose of Living Rooms Across America is to promote public awareness and effect cultural change through music, film, and other media platforms, while inspiring individuals to change the world.
Inspired by the United Farm Workers house parties of the 1960’s and 1970’s, LRAA brings together policymakers, business leaders, artists, and community leaders who are committed to changing our culture through the re-telling of ideas, stories, and images.
Mike de la Rocha created Living Rooms Across America in 2012 as a way to merge his love of music and politics. As a musician, author and speaker in the fields of criminal justice, spirituality and self-development, Mike uses music as a way to stimulate conversation, build community and inspire the public imagination around issues of change and transformation.
LRAA helps identify nonprofit partners and opportunities to build local, statewide and/or national living room tours while providing strategic marketing, communication and technical assistance. Utilizing a proven model that combines music and storytelling, LRAA creates unique and memorable living room experiences for organizations across the country.
Discovery & Research:
Living Rooms Across America helps individuals and organizations discover existing issue-based campaigns while providing market research on some of the country’s leading non-profits and companies. By working closely with a network of established organizations, LRAA has access to a number of leading non-profits and helps identify existing campaigns on which to build local, statewide and/or national living room tours.
Initial Concept & Design:
Living Rooms Across America helps individuals and companies with the process of creating new ideas and designing unique and memorable living room experiences. Utilizing an established model, Living Rooms Across America helps organizations design living room performances and conversations that capture the goals and mission of various specialized and issues-based campaigns.
Development & Launch:
Living Rooms Across America helps develop and launch comprehensive living rooms experiences that include a mixture of both music and storytelling. Through curated conversations, Living Rooms Across America provides unique and memorable experiences that stimulate conversation, build community and inspire people to get involved in local and national efforts to positively change our world.
